BRITT QUENTIN
ARRANGER
According to the parents of this rare talent, the story goes that Britt actually came into the world singing; while some are born with a silver spoon in mouth, this prodigy was graced with a silver microphone and perfect pitch. Church bands by age six felt more natural than baseball by far.
This dynamic vocalist and prolific songwriter has traveled the world on the laurels of his music. He held the position of Musical Director (1997-2009) for the internationally-acclaimed, Los Angeles-based, jazz-funk-pop vocal group, m-pact, having produced and recorded five CDs and toured four continents. While abroad, Britt still writes and arranges for m-pact, where his stunning 50+ charts can be heard.
Whether with m-pact or his other 2-3 side bands, Britt has shared the stage with a host of artists, from to pop superstars like Stevie Wonder, Sheryl Crow, Babyface, Lionel Richie, Kid Rock, and John Meyer to jazz legends like Natalie Cole, Herbie Hancock, or Kenny G. Britt’s signature sound can also be heard on commercial recordings worldwide for Disney, Yahoo, and Cartoon Network to name a few.
Rare in any modern day musician, Britt boasts equal parts street smarts and formal education, having studied voice, piano, classical violin for 11 years, and music education at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. The later gave Britt credential to land lead counter tenor soloist for the contemporary classical work, Cafe Desire (2002 – 2004) as well as conductor of the All-State Jazz Choir of Colorado 2007. Britt still has a soft spot for the music education he pioneered with m-pact, and shouts out to the million plus students and audience members he has touched so far.
Britt currently resides in London where he is the Resident Director and in the cast of Thriller Live, a musical tribute to Michael Jackson.
